ADHD MEETS Podcast with Emily

Launching soon

With Emily. A podcast about what happens when ADHD meets motherhood, relationships, work and the everyday task of remembering why you walked into a room.

Expect honest conversations, ridiculous stories, guests and the occasional useful takeaway. Some episodes will be just me. Others will involve someone brave enough to join in.

Emily, host of ADHD MEETS

Meet ADHD Emily

Hi, I’m Emily. Probably mid-tangent.

People call me Gremily. Watch me for one minute and you’ll get it.

Mum, overthinker, enthusiastic oversharer. Somehow convinced I’m too much and not enough, often within the same five minutes.

I created ADHD MEETS for chaotic mums like me. Women who love their families, have 47 tabs open in their heads and wonder how everyone else is managing work, parenting, relationships and remembering what’s for dinner.

We’ll talk about ADHD and everything it bumps into: motherhood, careers, confidence, perimenopause and the daily admin of being a functioning adult. The moments when an idea grabs me and I’m absolutely flying at work. And the days when replying to one email feels like a full-time job.

I’ll share my experiences, ask questions and have honest conversations about the things we laugh off, feel embarrassed about or quietly think only happen to us.

Sometimes it’ll be weird. Sometimes I’ll think I’m being funny. Sometimes we’ll get a bit deeper.

Most of the time, I’ll forget the original question.

I’m figuring things out too. Hopefully we can have a laugh, find our people and feel a little less alone along the way.

Oversharing. Overthinking. Occasionally on topic.

A podcast for the mums with 47 tabs open.

In their brains. And on their phones.

You love your kids. You’ve got good intentions. You might also have forgotten the school dress-up day, reheated your coffee four times and spent the evening replaying something you said in 2014.

Welcome. You’re in the right place.

ADHD MEETS is where we talk about the funny, frustrating and sometimes emotional bits of living with ADHD while trying to keep everyone fed, vaguely organised and wearing something clean.

No perfect routines required. Come as you are. Late is fine.

ADHD MEETS… what, exactly?

There’s a lot to talk about. Staying on topic could be an issue.

ADHD MEETS…

Motherhood

The school run, forgotten forms, mum guilt and loving your children while desperately needing five minutes when nobody touches you.

ADHD MEETS…

The mental load

Appointments, birthdays, packed lunches and being the person who’s supposed to remember everything when you can’t find your own phone.

ADHD MEETS…

Overthinking

Replaying conversations, reading far too much into a full stop and wondering whether everyone secretly thinks you’re annoying.

ADHD MEETS…

Relationships

Communication, affection, arguments, sharing responsibilities and trying to explain what’s happening in your head without starting six other stories.

ADHD MEETS…

Friendship

Forgetting to reply, accidentally interrupting, oversharing and caring about people even when your messages suggest you’ve disappeared.

ADHD MEETS…

Work and ambition

Big ideas, last-minute bursts, boring admin and wanting to do everything while struggling to start the one thing that’s due.

ADHD MEETS…

Home and organisation

The washing chair, doom piles, lost keys and buying another planner because this one will definitely change your life.

ADHD MEETS…

Money and impulse buys

New hobbies, abandoned subscriptions and the parcel arriving after you’ve forgotten you ordered it.

ADHD MEETS…

Big feelings

Feeling overwhelmed, taking things personally, losing your patience and dealing with the guilt afterwards.

ADHD MEETS…

Sensory overload

Everyone talking at once, the television being too loud and suddenly being unable to tolerate your own waistband.

ADHD MEETS…

Identity and diagnosis

Looking back at your life through a different lens, understanding yourself and working out what you actually need.

ADHD MEETS…

Rest and switching off

Being exhausted with a brain that’s still holding a meeting. Plus the guilt of sitting down when there’s always something left to do.

ADHD MEETS…

Hyperfixations and rabbit holes

The interests that take over your life for a fortnight. Will I still care by the time the equipment arrives? Unclear.

ADHD MEETS…

Confidence and being yourself

People-pleasing, trying to fit in and learning to take up space without apologising for your entire personality.

What the spend can do

Your fee goes in as advertising spend. Here’s roughly what that spend can get back: how many times your ad could be shown, and how many separate people it could reach.

    700–2,100 estimated people reached

  • £50

Your package fee is the spend — £44 sits just under the £50 line, £77 just under £100 and £111 just over. Estimates, not promises: what you actually get depends on the audience, the post and how long the boost runs.

Every week

Tell me your ADHD fail of the week

Send me yours and I’ll use the best ones as content.

The message sent to the wrong person. Forty minutes spent hunting for the phone you were already holding. The thing you promised yourself you’d do on Monday that is still sitting there on Friday. If it happened this week and you can almost laugh about it now, I want to hear it.

I’ll be reading these out and posting them, so only send something you’d be happy hearing in public. Tell me whether to use your name or keep it anonymous.

Send your fail of the week

How it works

  1. 1Email me your fail. One line is plenty — the messier the better.
  2. 2I pick the best of the week and write them up.
  3. 3I read them out and post them, with your name or without it — your call.

I’ll start each week off with one of my own, because somehow fails come easy!

Got a story?

I’m listening

Well, I might interrupt. But I am listening.

An unforgettable parenting moment? A thought you assumed nobody else had? A subject you wish people talked about more? I’d love to hear it.

Suggest a topic, share your own experience or put yourself forward as a guest. Tell me whether you’d be happy for your story to be mentioned on the podcast, and whether you’d prefer to stay anonymous.
